TRADEMARK PARALEGAL SPECIALIST - BG11

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

Assist attorneys with all aspects of trademark practice. Prepare and file trademark registration applications, statements of use, extension requests, affidavits of use and incontestability, renewal

applications, notices of opposition, cancellation petitions and other papers with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) or the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Prepare and file trademark applications and associated documents using TEAS and TEAS Plus, TTAB filings using ESTTA, and trademark assignment, security interests and other trademark chain of title

recordations using ETAS. Perform trademark screening clearance searches and other internet-based factual research. Review docket on a regular basis to ensure that deadlines are met and

that attorneys are notified on a regular basis of upcoming deadlines; generate standard and customized status reports as needed. Draft written communications to clients, foreign counsel and PTO. Supervise inputting of deadlines and management of database of domestic and foreign trademarks registrations, domain names, and opposition and cancellation proceedings maintained by docketing clerk. Collect evidence of use for prosecution, maintenance, and administrative litigation matters. As with all positions, perform other duties as requested by Firm management.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

 

Minimum of 3 years trademark paralegal experience. Familiarity with PATTSY WAVE (or similar web-based software), CPI Trademark Management software, and all aspects of Trademark Office portals (e.g., TESS, TEAS, TSDR, ESTTA, TTABVUE, and ETAS). Knowledge of trademark prosecution filings and requirements, including different types of trademark applications, and requirements for statements of use, extension requests, affidavits of use and incontestability, renewal applications and other papers filed with the USPTO. Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with individuals at all levels of the firm in an appropriate and professional manner; strong service orientation, sense of accountability and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously; work equally well as part of a team in both a leadership and subordinate role; and excellent organizational skills. BS/BA from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.

SENIOR LITIGATION PARALEGAL - BG11

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

An experienced, career-track Litigation Paralegal with substantial work experience in AmLaw 100 firms or specialized boutique law firms who will contribute as lead paralegal on large, complex cases and provide instruction and informal mentorship to junior paralegals at the Firm. Perform all elements of litigation case management, including file management, case calendaring, discovery, and trial activities. Utilize existing systems and procedures and/or establish new procedures to facilitate the organization and retrieval of documents by and for the attorneys on the case team. Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys; conduct legal research under attorney supervision. Provide formal and/or informal guidance and training to more junior paralegals regarding firm and litigation procedures and best practices.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

 

Minimum 5 years work experience as a Litigation Paralegal in an Amlaw 100 firm or a specialized litigation practice firm. Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial. Experience with Section 337 investigations conducted by the U.S. International Trade Commission a plus. Experience preparing for and attending trials, arbitrations, and hearings. Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including negotiating for work space, setting-up remote office space, and coordinating with vendors. Experience developing and maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and electronic case files. Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail. Familiarity with USITC Electronic Document Information System (EDIS) preferred. Experience using e-discovery databases (e.g. Concordance, Relativity, Ringtail). Experience using litigation support software for managing files and transcripts preferred (e.g. LiveNote, CaseMap, COVinteractive, etc.). Proficient with Microsoft Office software products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proficiency using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Adobe Acrobat in a legal setting. Proficient with cite-checking and Bluebook rules. Must be available for overtime work and travel as needed. BS/BA from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred. Paralegal certificate preferred.

SENIOR CORPORATE PARALEGAL - BG11

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

Corporate Paralegal to assist in all aspects of corporate transactions including venture formations, foreign qualifications, reinstatements, acquisitions, mergers, withdrawals, dissolutions and stock issuance transactions. Provides lawyers and clients with all necessary assistance in furtherance of corporate transactional matters.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

 

At least 5 years of transactional paralegal experience at an AMLAW 100 or 200 law firm, or similar experience in a large in-house corporate legal department. Excellent communication and

interpersonal skills required to interact with lawyers, staff, and clients on a daily basis. Excellent analytical, organizational, trouble-shooting and planning skills. Strong skills in Microsoft Office. Strong research skills and proficiency with common research tools, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, SEC/EDGAR and other modern financial services and legal research tools and services. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as be a part of a team as matters require. Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. Ability to handle multiple projects, shifting priorities, and meet deadlines. A Four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required. A graduate degree is a plus, but is not required.

LITIGATION PARALEGAL - BG11

A mid-level litigation paralegal with work experience gained at Amlaw 100 firms or specialized litigation boutique law firms working on complex litigation, investigation, and/or arbitration matters. Working with more senior paralegals and/or attorneys, perform all elements of litigation case management, including document and file management, case calendaring, discovery support, and trial prep and logistics activities. On a case-specific basis, coordinate and oversee the tasks of more junior paralegals and other support staff as needed. Interact with outside entities (e.g. courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors and other law firms) to coordinate activities as needed in support of assigned cases. Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys; conduct legal research under attorney supervision.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

At least 2 years work experience as a litigation paralegal in an Amlaw 100 firm or suitable specialized litigation or other dispute resolution firm. Experience with all stages of litigation, including use of current e-discovery database tools, modern e-filing practices, and trial preparation activities required; experience working at trial or arbitration proceedings preferred. Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with individuals at all levels of the firm in an appropriate and professional manner; strong service orientation, sense of accountability and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously; work equally well as part of a team in both a leadership and subordinate role; and excellent organizational skills.  Proficient with Microsoft Office software products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
