DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Assistant Director of Business Development - Regulatory is the firm’s senior-most business development role supporting the firm’s global regulatory practices and reports to the Director of Business Development - Americas & Asia. Working closely with the firm’s regulatory practice group leaders, Directors of Business Development and other members of the business development team, this individual’s primary responsibility is to oversee and support the development and implementation of strategic business initiatives aimed at securing new clients, strengthening existing relationships and increasing visibility of the regulatory practices consistent with the overall goals and strategies of the firm. While having broad responsibility of the firm’s regulatory BD efforts, this role will also be directly involved in the BD support of the firm’s Life Sciences groups and Global Compliance initiative. The Assistant Director of Business Development - Regulatory will supervise a team of eight BD professionals, including four Regulatory BD Managers. This role is based in Washington, DC. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or JD a plus. Five years of Marketing and/or Business Development manager-level experience supporting multiple practice groups or a cross-practice industry group in an AmLaw 100 firm. Demonstrated background of accomplishment in marketing and business development. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and initiative. Supervisory experience required. Proven ability to work well in a fast paced environment. Ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor. Experience and facility with information technology and software for marketing the practice group, including website, databases and knowledge management tools.
