DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

We are currently seeking a Legal Secretary to support attorneys in various practices in our Washington, DC office. Become an integral part of the attorneys' busy litigation practice. Manage and maintain attorneys’ schedule and calendars. Make travel arrangements and maintain itineraries. Accurately submit expense reports for domestic and international travel. Assist attorneys with marketing initiatives (research, production, etc.). Organize and maintain client files. Execute administrative requests. Other duties as assigned by supervisors

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

 

Qualified candidates should have at least two years of legal secretary experience. Some degree of experience or exposure to litigation highly preferred. Outstanding organizational, administrative, and communication (oral and written) skills. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and self-motivation. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, efficiently multi-task and produce a high-end work product in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented and professional mindset/demeanor. Interest in the legal field, as demonstrated in undergraduate coursework, extracurricular activities or prior jobs or internships. Four-year undergraduate degree strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

SALARY:

 

$65,000+ depending on experience.

 

ENTRY LEVEL LEGAL SECRETARY - BG11

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

This position provides inexperienced applicants an entry-level opportunity to join the secretarial services team. Incumbents will be progressively exposed to the complete range of tasks that a legal secretary undertakes and over an anticipated training period of 2 - 4 years will be developed to be fully proficient and competent in all duties and responsibilities expected of an accomplished, experienced legal secretary. Incumbents will be assigned to teams with at least one experienced secretary who will provide oversight, guidance and integration to the firm’s general approach to provision of secretarial services. The secretarial supervisor will ensure that the secretary receives assignments that will fully develop their secretarial skills and monitor performance development. Provide secretarial and administrative support in a Secretarial Service Center (SSC) consisting of a Team of 2 or 3 secretaries. Coordinate and maintain effective office procedures and efficient work flow; comply with policies and procedures set by the Firm; establish and maintain harmonious working relationships; foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

 

0 - 3 years administrative or legal experience. College degree preferred. Excellent typing and grammar as well as software skills.
