HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT - BG11

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

The Human Resources Department has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant in the Washington, D.C. Office. The responsibilities include but are not limited to processing FMLA payroll authorizations for staff and attorneys. Handling all the FMLA electronic filing and personnel electronic filing. Entering all non-employee worker information into Epicor. Processing staff employment verifications. Preparing new hire orientation schedules, reserving conference rooms, sending calendar invites, preparing new hire packets, giving the Firm tours and distributing the new hire forms for DC staff. Preparing the bi-weekly staff recruiting letters, printing resumes and scanning recruiting documents into the database. Assisting with Staff Appreciation Week and other events hosted by the HR department.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative support position. Experience in a law firm, corporate or professional environment preferred. Advanced proficiency using databases, MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with PowerPoint is a plus. A minimum typing speed of 50 wpm. Two-year college degree or equivalent experience. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, with a sense of urgency, while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organization and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information. Must have strong client service skills.

BENEFITS COORDINATOR - BG11

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

Daily administration of all benefits programs with an emphasis on the management and oversight of all leave programs to include Short Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Parental Leave, Workers Compensation and family medical leaves offered to attorneys and staff employees in all US based offices of the firm. Manage leave programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements and achieve operational consistency. Communicate leave policies and programs to all levels of attorneys and staff employees. Manage all leave claim filing events including the distribution of leave application package and forms, coordination of medical review process and communication of leave status to employee, supervisors and/or managing partners or leave coordinators, and Payroll department. Communicate leave information with all appropriate claim filing entities to facilitate timely and appropriate follow-up. Oversee all leave tracking to include timely status updates and changes to the Human Resources Information System and associated leave tracking systems. Prepare and maintain monthly leave reports for Senior Management. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

5-7 years benefits administration experience required. At least 3 years of leave management experience with multiple state locations desired. Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA and state leave laws desired. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Workday (or similar HRMS software) preferred. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication ability,
strong customer service orientation and ability to work as a part of a team. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

SALARY:

$62,300 + depending on experience.

HOURS:  

9:00 am – 5:30 pm
